The animal of the day is the Ring-tailed lemur
Marlie Frasier
Madagascar is famous for its lemurs. When ring-tailed lemurs are first born they love to cling onto their mother's furry underside but soon graduate to a 'seat-with-a-view' astride her back. But that mother better be careful because her infant is highly precocious and is often dismounting to join the other youngsters in a lively playgroup. Ring-tailed lemurs spend most of their time on the cool forest floor, which is unlike any other type of lemur.
